Lo! I have been deeply moved by the life and mind of James. Yes, there’s no need to mention his first name because he’s that awesome. If you have no idea who I’m talking about, you’re in luck because I will probably write a post in the coming weeks about some of James’ most interesting ideas I’ve come across.

Random: I picked up a compilation of Nietzsche’s works in an old suitcase next to a dumpster. I can’t wait to delve into his worldview! Of course, there won’t be much agreement between his and mine, but that makes it more intriguing for me. Also, I have no doubt there will be some bits of truth in what he says. Of course, it’s up to me to discern what’s worth gleaning from his writing–recasting it in the Christian conception of reality (which is, by far much less narrow and dogmatic than most presume it to be).

And, I just discovered Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. I’m surprised I didn’t encounter him earlier–I wish I had! But no matter, better late than never. His theorizing about the Omega Point is very inter-disciplinary and very nuanced, but it somehow resonates with me because I feel that indirectly it’s pretty scriptural. After all, Paul not only saw salvation as relevant for an individual person, but it was part of God’s grand plan for a cosmic redemption (eg. Colossians 1).
