I’ve been blessed lately with some new lyrics. They’re not in their final form yet, but I think they’re getting closer. Here are two excerpts, one from a new song called Waiting Signal and the other from another new song called Velvet Room Surprise:
You know just what it takes,
To be the oil to my squeaky brakes.
When I close, you remain open,
As the sweetness is leavin’ its wake.
Will you wait for me?
As I shed this skin carefully?
Somehow your eyes are tellin’ me yes,
Baby you never fail to impress.
Don’t think I’ve put up a smokescreen
This thicket is anything but clean.
But maybe we can find a signal,
Add flesh to bone, put some legs on a dream.- from Waiting Signal
There’s magic in the dust tonight,
Felt it all the way from the top floor.
Dancin’ in your velvet room.
Feelin’ a pulse that I can’t ignore.
…
Eyes are on a distant shore,
Hopes are flyin’ faster than light,
Aching for the possible,
['Cuz] your hand in mine is feelin’ just right.
