capgras, phantom limbs, & synesthesia

with fascinating insights from neuropsychological case studies, one of my favorite neuroscientists (v. ramachandran) unpacks the features of three startling phenomena of perception: the capgras delusion, phantom limbs, and synesthesia. ramachandran’s enthusiasm for understanding neural functioning is definitely contagious, and his deft rolling of r’s gets me every time, haha.
